1988 Lamborghini Countach LP 5000 QV - Awesome Car, Great Color, Horrid Bumpers! Editor's Note: About those bumpers, only the American market was lucky enough to get those. We have congress to thank for destroying the looks of this, and many other cars in the 70s and 80s. Horrible, but they can always be replaced with European versions.
------ From St. Louis Car Museum:
With its ultra distinctive wedge-shaped design created by the Bertone Design Studio, it quickly became one of the most iconic Italian super cars of all time! It was produced from 1974 through early 1990, with only a few modifications to the exterior design, and power output from the impressive V12 power plant! Made from aircraft-grade aluminum around a tubular chassis, these massive cars were surprising lightweight coming in at only 3285 lbs. During the entire 16-year long production run, only 2,042 Countach units were ever produced! True rolling art!
We are extremely proud to offer this 1988 Lamborghini Countach LP5000 Quattrovalvole featuring a rare Rosso Met Scuro (Dark Red Metallic) paint over two-tone tan and red leather accenting the interior! These 5.2L 4-valve Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injected engines were introduced in 1988 and served as the most favorable power plant thru the balance of the Countach’s existence making an estimated 420 horsepower! Options offered on these wonderful cars only included the massive rear deck wing and upgraded 6-speaker audio system of which this car has both. Included features are the 5-speed manual transmission, front fog lamps, full Jaegar instrumentation, proper Italian air horns, power mirrors, air conditioning, 4-wheel power disc brakes, and 15” alloy wheels. The O.Z. Racing 2-piece wheels wear Pirelli P-Zero tires all around. The fronts measuring 225/50ZR15, and the rears 345/35ZR15! The car does feature a dealer installed K40 front radar detection system. Under the front hood is the original O.Z Route spare tire and complete tool kit. This kit included spare belts, light bulbs, fuses, and wrenches all in a leather bound satchel.
It has traveled only 10,162 kms (6,314 miles) from new and has never been abused or damaged in any way! The original paint on this car is truly magnificent and only a few touch-ups will be noted on the front chin spoiler. Inside, the leather has survived brilliantly with only the only fade noted on the driver side seat bottom, and a scuff on the passenger side entrance bolster. Mechanically this car is excellent! It has been serviced professionally while in Ohio by Evans Automotive, and more recently by Fox Valley Motorcars/Lamborghini of Chicago. This included a brake fluid flush, exhaust gaskets, axle seal, oil change with new drain plug, new shifter gate, and complete safely inspection completed at 9,404 kms. The rare color combination and low mileage make this example deserving of any new, or well-established, car collection!
